Tullio Simoncini's discovery
Cancer is a fungus
Candida is a type of fungi (Eumycetes). Similar fungi are pathogenic to both humans and animals with mycoses such as Trichophyton that cause tinea (athlete's foot, ringworm, and scalp ringworm), Cryptococcus that causes cryptococcosis, and Aspergillus that causes aspergillosis.
Candida which causes candidiassis is related to those. While infection by fungus is usually called mycosis, when the infected area reaches internal organs such as the brain, lung, heart, or liver, it is then labeled as a "deep mycosis" (ex: systemic mycosis or visceral mycosis).
Actual Facts
These pathogenic bacteria have chitinolytic strengthened cell walls and are eukaryotic organisms similar to the cells that make up the human body. There are very few medicines that can damage only bacterial cells while not harming human body tissue. Because of that, compared to other bacterium, treatment is extremely difficult. Watch videos
An outbreak of deep mycosis is due to an opportunistic infection caused by pathogens that would normally not be able to infect a healthy individual. Because diagnosis is very difficult, cases of deep mycosis are increasing yearly, with no reliable means of treatment.
